This is the first year that Hot Rod magazine
has had two Power Tours. The first was in May of this
year and went from the Los Angeles area across the
country to the Detroit area. The next part of the tour
begins in Fitchburg, MA (Boston area) on October 17
and goes all the way to St. Petersburg, FL (Tampa Bay
area) on October 25.
At every stop of the tour, an elaborate midway will be
constructed for the sponsors and manufacturers to show
off their latest products and services. A huge corral
of cars will be arranged for the owners to show off
their toys and at some stops, a stage will be built
for bands to play into the night. The party starts in
the late afternoon and goes on till everyone leaves.
Then, the next morning we all move down the road to
the next stop.
As we proceed along the tour, we will be taking
digital pictures of the days events and downloading
them to COMP Cams in Memphis where they will be posted
on our web page the next day. Follow along with us and
share in our adventures as we drive 2000 miles on the
maiden voyage of our completely restored 1969 Camaro
that makes 674 horsepower. That combination alone
should make for an interesting trip. Since we will be
accompanied by thousands of other participants, we
expect to have quite a time.
