| Sunday, May 23, 1999 at Nashville, TN | | Here is the most helpful person we met on the
Power Tour. He also may be the youngest member of
the Long Haul Gang. Jason Newport is only 11, but
he made it to Nashville with us. I miss this guy.
 |
| We were so busy today that I didn`t get down to
the stage to get a shot of Suzy Boggus performing
for us. She was our entertainment and did a great
job. It sounded great, even from so far away.
This was how we watched the concert.
 |
| Here are some of the cars we saw for the first
time today. It`s amazing that even in the last
city of the tour, we have new participants. Great
people with great cars.
 |
| This was special to me. I missed this photo on
last year`s tour so I`ve been waiting for the
annoucement to gather everyone. This is the Long
Haul Gang. These are the people that started in
San Bernardino, California and have come all the
way to Nashville, Tennessee on the HOT ROD
Magazine Power Tour West 1999. Jason and I are in
there somewhere.
 |
| In case you`re wondering what we are all looking
at, this is it. That`s Scott Kileen up there on a
ladder strapped to the top of his van. He wanted
the whole street as the backdrop for the photo.
You`ll see this photo in HOT ROD when they cover
the Power Tour. In fact, if you get your car in
HOT ROD, Scott is the guy who will take the
photo`s. He`s the best there is, but he`s kind of
crazy.
After so much preparation and work, it`s strange
now that it`s all over. We`ve come almost 3000
miles in a convertible `69 Camaro, and we`re only
200 miles from home. I`ve had a great time and
have made some good new friends and enjoyed the
company of some old ones. I`ll miss all of the
cars and Army Armstrong`s voice over the PA
system, but I`m ready to go home. We`ll be back
in October to start the East Coast Power Tour,
but we`re headed home now. I hope that you have
enjoyed our version of events on the Power Tour.
For now, I have to get a fender fixed.
