The guys from HOT ROD hired this guy to come and
do wheelstand exhibition! He wowed the crowd at
nearly every stop in this Blown big block rear
engined S-10 Pickup.

It`s not often that you see an early 70s Mustang
that looks this clean. These guys did an
excellent job on this car. Very nice, indeed.

This convertible Mopar was drop top gorgeous!
 |
|
This Pro Street 56 Ford had detail you wouldn`t
believe! You just had to see this one.

Although yellow sometimes refers to a cowardly
type, I don`t think this big block Chevelle falls
under that moniker! A cool stance, and very
healthy sounding idle let everyone know it
was ``All Business``

Though not your typical Power Tour car, I loved
this 98 Oldsmobile. Super slick black paint, 16
inch wheels, healthy power plant, and lowered
suspension make for one killer family ride.
Could ``Pro Barge`` be the next ``big thing``???
 |
|
This orange Challenger stopped me in my tracks! A
big fan of last years Challenger X, this guy did
his own version on a budget......nontheless, very
cool.

|
Has anyone seen Mr. Flintstone? He`s double
parked! He said he was deserving of the ``longest
haul`` award, because noone could find Bedrock on
the map!
 |
|
Very seldom do you see a customized first gen
Corvette....well folks, feast your eyes on one of
the finest in the country! This car had a dual
quad small block, and a killer stance that had
everyone snapping their necks as they walked by!

COMP Cams held a drawing for a pair of tickets
to ``The Driving Experience`` at the California
Speedway. This fun couple, Marcia and Dusty, were
the winners. They got nearly a full day of fun at
the track which included classroom time
discussing driving technique and safety. They
also received 10 laps on the 2 mile tri-oval
speedway, and were reaching speeds in the 165 MPH
range!!!!! They seemed to think this was enough
incentive to come back next year.....we hope so.
Congratulations to the happy couple!

Here`s Marcia getting ready to take the wheel!
 |
|
Marcia didn`t waste any time getting in the car,
and becoming familiar the cockpit.....just a
note: I`m glad there wasn`t a stopwatch handy at
the track, because she sure looked ``fast``!!!!!!!

Our own Wayne Williams couldn`t wait to take the
wheel in one of these retired Winston Cup cars
from ``The Driving Experience``

Here`s our COMP Cams long haulers along with
our ``Driving Experience`` winners, Dusty, and
Marcia

| Power Tour participants:
We here at COMP Cams would like to thank all of those involved with the Power Tour. It was all in all a great success. From the local participants to the "Long Haulers", all of the crew at EMAP events and HOT ROD Magazine, the other sponsors, and all of those who endured the 11 days with us, Thank you. We made some new friends, got the chance to visit with some of our old friends, took care of a little business, and had a lot of fun........we hope you all did too. See you next year.
Until then, take care. -COMP Cams Crew |
