The new COMP Cams® Ultra-Gold™ Aluminum Rockers have changed the way racing and high performance street engine builders approach the world of valve train design. Ultra-Gold™ Rockers are not only light in weight and CNC-machined for premium quality and consistency, but they are stronger than any other aluminum rocker available today. COMP Cams® Ultra-Gold™ Aluminum Rockers are now being offered for General Motors LS engines (Gen III LS1, -2, -4, -6; and Gen III truck 4.8, 5.3 and 6.0-liter engines) and deliver all of these same benefits in both 1.72:1 and 1.82:1 ratios for those desiring even more added performance. These ratios were carefully selected to generate the most performance improvement for LS-family engines. They also feature an integrated spring oiler hole in the rocker body to cool the valve springs through increased oil flow, a COMP Cams® exclusive.
The COMP Cams® Ultra-Gold™ GM LS Rockers utilize eight, single-piece billet stands to increase valve train rigidity and deliver improved rocker mounting. The full radius body reduces stress and increases strength, all while fitting under the stock valve covers without modifications to the valve train, although removal of the internal oil baffles is required. In chassis dyno tests performed at the COMP Cams® R & D center, the 1.72:1 ratio rockers delivered 10 rear wheel horsepower more than stock rocker arms, an amazing increase for a simple bolt-in procedure. Further performance gains can be generated by using the 1.82:1 ratio if suitable for your engine combination.
