4L60E Valve Body w/ Engine Braking

Engine braking helps slow a vehicle when downshifting into turns. The TCI® 4L60E Valve Body accomplishes this by applying the overrun clutches, which in turn also increases torque capacity and relieves stress on the forward clutch sprag in GM 4L60E transmissions. This valve body provides engine-braking capability in third, second and first gears when the shifter is in the third-gear position.

Transmission Operates Normally w/ Shifter in Overdrive Position

With the shifter in the Overdrive position, the transmission comes out of engine braking mode for normal driving conditions. The OEM valve body does not offer these features. When used with a paddle shifter, engine braking occurs while you keep both hands on the steering wheel as you downshift. Such an option allows drivers to maintain total focus on driving. The TCI® 4L60E Valve Body is designed for all applications utilizing 1996 and newer GM 4L60E transmissions.
